A very interesting premise of an alternate England where time travel is common place is central to this book-based investigative story. The story failed to grip me, despite a few moments of pure comic genius, until Chapter 27; however after this it quickly gained pace until the end. Having read Jane Eyre would be useful before embarking of this book, however I do not believe that this is totally necessary.
